Saguaro Cactus Habitat Fairfield, Tucson, Arizona Xeriscaping principles limited the size of lots in this 20-year-old subdivision, and extensive areas of native saguaro cactus were the beneficiaries. In this example, local regulations did not cause the good design, but at least did not impede it either, as is often the case with conventional zoning codes. Photo by Randall Arendt. |
